This Wednesday I met a classmate by the name of Amy Becerra. She is currently a freshman coming from the city of Pico Rivera. Surprisingly, despite the distance, she does not dorm, which makes it almost an hour drive to school pretty much everyday! The good thing though is that she doesn’t mind it much. Before school started, she made the most out of her summer by making a trip out to the mountains of Oregon. There she spent most of her time hiking, lucky girl.
When I asked her the question of the week, “Do you think art is important in today’s world?,” she made some really good points. The first reason was that it is important because it allows people to be individuals and express themselves. The second reason was that it can provide a healthy outlet for those in need of one. Lastly, she mentioned how art can be used in a beneficial manner to send powerful or meaningful messages.
