Hailei Reyes is currently a Nutrition major on her third year here at CSULB. However, when she’s not at school, you’ll most likely find Hailei out and about checking out new cool places. In fact, she is in a competition with her sister to see who can visit the most places. As of right now, she has taken the lead.
The questions of the week that I asked Hailei were:
- What is a piece of art, of any medium, that you would like to share with everyone? Why do you like it and why do you think others should experience (read, see, listen to, etc.) it?
- Would you be supportive of your child wanting to pursue an art career? Why or why not?
- Open your phones to the 1st page. What apps do you both have? What apps are different?
In regards to the first question, she responded by saying that she would like to share the idea of more childlike art like the splatter painting you do in kindergarten. She likes the aspect of it being carefree and believes that people as they get older should still look to that kind of art as a way to feel free and less stressed. Her response to the second question was very much a supportive one, for she would definitely be all for her child pursuing art as long as it prevents them from resenting her and making them “crazier than [she is].” Lastly, when we looked at what apps we had, we noticed that she had way more apps than i did. Her apps ranged from Tumbler to Netflix to Uber, while the only app we had similar was Snapchat. However, we probably would have had more apps in common if I didn’t run out of space on my phone and had to resort to deleting majority of them.
